Neptune Explorers
we where formed in 2018 and are based along side the 1st Reading YMCA Sea Scout group
Explorers are made up of boys and girls, ages 14 to 18 years.
Meetings are held every Thursday evening from 7.30 to 9.30 pm at our Boathouse
Open most Sunday afternoons during the summer.
What Do We Do?
Here at Neptune we try to provide the best mixture of Fun activities with Learning scouting skills
Here is a list of some the activities that we try to do during the year.
This list is just a sample as it constantly changes depending on the wishes
of the Unit members and the planning of the Executive Committee

Uniform
As we are based along side the Sea Scout Group we follow the same Uniform guidlines of Sea Scouts.
This means that we have full uniform on the 1st Meeting of the month and reshows if standards are not met
The uniform list is as follows:
Sea Scout cap and Explorer tally band.
Blue Sea Scout shirt
Navy & White Neptune scarf.
Black, Dark Grey or Navy Blue trousers / Skirt.
Black socks
Black shoes.
We also allow for ‘Dress Down’ uniform to be worn when full uniform is not required.

The Unit leaders will be able to advise you on where to purchase your Explorer uniform
Merchandise
We have started our own line of branded merchandise to help with fundraising.
Most of the range is print to order and each order helps the unit raise money to help fund more exiting activities
